The Church with Acts 20:20 Vision:

"And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house."

The call to begin a new work for God in Oregon began in our Pastor's heart in 1972, while he was on staff at Alice Avenue Baptist Church in Phoenix, Arizona. Under the divine leadership of the Holy Spirit, Pastor, his wife JoAnn, daughter Debbie and son Ken Jr., came to the Gladstone area to establish a New Testament Baptist Church.

As everything has a beginning, so did Tri-City Baptist Temple (TCBT). In July of 1973, a group of 16 people gathered together in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Wood. Pastor preached his first message entitled, "Called to Conquer." That message set the tone for the next 31+ years as the 16 launched out by faith and passion to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), with Acts 20:20 as the heartbeat of their ministry.

Through God's divine providence and provision, TCBT began meeting on
the third Sunday in July of 1973, in the Far West Federal Savings
building in the Oregon City Shopping Center.

A few months later we moved to the Jennings Lodge Elementary School
on River Road for three years.

In 1976, TCBT moved into a permanent location on Webster Road and attendance began to grow rapidly.  In 1981, TCBT was recognized by Moody Monthly Magazine and Dr. Elmer Towns, and awarded the fastest growing Sunday school in Oregon.  These many achievements would mean nothing if the church does not concentrate on and commit to evangelism and discipleship.

At TCBT, we have seen over 5500 people receive Christ as their personal Savior, over 2800 believers follow their Lord in Baptism, and been blessed with over 2500 members.  TCBT has given over two million dollars to missions and missionary projects and we currently support over 100 missionaries.

At TCBT, we continue to have the desire to go for the Lord and grow in the Lord until His shout, "Come up hither," when we will hear those words from our Lord, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" (Matthew 28:21).  On that glorious day we will be rewarded for all of the time, talent and treasure we have invested for His glory over the years.

As we look to a bright future for our church, we give God the glory for our past, our present and what is to come.  His command is as bright as the sun and sure as it was when He gave it 2,000 years ago: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:19-20).

On July 19, 2009, TCBT celebrated our 36th Anniversary Sunday.  We are honored and blessed to have our founding pastor, Dr. Ken McCormick, and his wife, JoAnn as our spiritual leaders.  If you are looking for a church home that is welcoming and family-oriented, we hope and pray that you will join us.

It is our goal and responsibility to continue proclaiming the Gospel until His return!
